How to get a BASIX Certificate?

In order to obtain a BASIX Certificate to submit with your development application and/or complying development certificate, you need to complete the on-line BASIX assessment. Following are our suggested steps for completing this simple process:

 

  1. Download and read the Data Input Checklist. This provides you with a list of the information you will require to complete the BASIX assessment tool. It is recommended that you use this list to gather all relevant information before starting the BASIX assessment.

  2. First time users, register your details. Set up a username and password. Once you have done this, you can login to BASIX (from the homepage) at any time. Click here to register your details.
  3. Start a new project. Once you have registered or logged in to BASIX, you will be on the "Projects portfolio" page. On this page, click on the "Start a new project" button to start entering your project information into BASIX (using the data input checklist as a base).
  4. Reaching the BASIX targets. Click on the "Calculate" button to update your score. BASIX will calculate your score based on the information entered. Click here for information on Water and Energy targets you need to reach to get a BASIX Certificate.
  5. Review your commitments and get a BASIX Certificate. You can review your commitments before generating a BASIX Certificate. This can be done from the "Certificate page". Once you are happy with the commitments, print your Certificate and attach it to your house plans and development application and submit to Council.
    NOTE:     The Certificate can only be printed once you have reached the BASIX targets and completed all the mandatory fields. You must ensure that the plans have the BASIX commitments marked on them.
