How do I use the Landscape page to increase my water score?

Landscaping affects the water consumption of your development. The more landscaping your development has, the more water is required by the lawn and/or garden. In drier areas of New South Wales (ie water target zones of 0, 20, and 30), large areas of garden and lawn can have a big impact on the water score in BASIX.

To increase your Water score, reduce the water consumption of your development by nominating indigenous or low water use plant species as part of your landscaping commitment.

If nominating indigenous/low water use species, a landscape plan listing species MUST be submitted with the development application.
