Hunter Water Corporation has released a report which analyses BASIX certificate trends from proposed single residential dwellings in Hunter Water's supply area. The report includes analysis of various site and dwelling characteristics, including block size, floor area and number of bedrooms as well as alternative water sources, end-use connections and nomination of water efficient fixtures as indicated on the BASIX certificates.
The report found an average BASIX water score of 43.5 (min. required is 40) for the proposed dwellings and an increasing trend in use of high rated water efficient fixtures.
The report is part of a BASIX Water Consumption Assessment Project which Hunter Water Corporation is conducting under a Data Sharing Agreement with the Department of Planning & Environment.
In a second stage of the Project, Hunter Water will compare predicted water consumption from BASIX scores with actual meter consumption data for dwellings in their sample.
