On 1 October 2005, BASIX received the Australian Property Institute's Kemp Strang Property Industry Award. This award is given to an individual or team who has demonstrated the qualities of leadership and vision that lead to a change in the property industry in the interests of either property practitioners and/or the community at large.

In April 2005, BASIX received the Planning Institute of Australia's National Urban Planning Achievement Award.

BASIX won Gold in the Environment category at the Premier's Public Sector Awards in November 2004. This means BASIX has been recognised as the leading government program in this category, and is a fitting recognition of all the hard work that the team has contributed towards the success of this unique planning tool.

Also in November 2004, BASIX received two awards at the Planning Institute Australia (NSW Division) Awards for Excellence in Planning.

Winning the Urban Planning Achievement Award was a significant achievement, but BASIX also scooped the prestigious President's Award, given in recognition of its outstanding contribution to planning.
